The Skylla IP44 battery charger is designed to be installed outdoors, as it is resistant to rain, heat, salt air and corrosion. The temperature of the electronic components is monitored via a temperature sensor, in case of high heat, the output power will be reduced so as not to damage the equipment.

A LCD screen is installed on the front panel to check the good condition of the equipment, and also to be able to adapt the charging algorithm for a battery.

The time on a charge cycle of a battery adapts automatically, when the battery is not completely discharged, the charge time is limited to avoid overcharging. If the battery is completely discharged, the charge cycle time will be normal.

The BatterySafe function enables fast charging by measuring the gas emission during charging. In case of too much gas, the charge is limited so as not to damage the battery.

The Skylla IP44 is equipped with a standby function, which switches on when the battery is not used for 24 hours. This mode varies the voltage at the cell terminals in order to limit the effects of premature battery ageing.

Thanks to its very stable output voltage, the Skylla IP44 can be used as a DC power supply on its own.

The charger is equipped with 2 isolated outputs, one can make a normal charge and the other can make a "maintenance" charge with a voltage threshold and a current limit at 3 Amps. It is even possible to synchronize many chargers via the CAN bus connection.

All models are equipped with a voltage sensor that directly measures the voltage at the battery terminals to take into account the voltage loss of the charger cables.
