The Litio10.2 also comes with a built-in BMS and a fire suppression unit built right into the unit, so there are multiple layers of protection working in the background at all times.

Honestly, it depends on how much your home consumes. For most households running the basics, lights, fridge, router, and phone charging, you are looking at roughly 1 to 2 days per charge. Need more? You can stack up to 16 units together for a total of 163 kWh, which is enough to run a full home for several days or cover a small business.

That was one of the first things we thought about too. The Litio10.2 has a heating system built in that kicks on automatically when temperatures drop, so it keeps charging and discharging normally even when it is freezing outside. Most lithium batteries without this feature simply stop working properly below 0°C, which is a real problem if you are relying on it for backup power in the middle of January.

The two that matter most here are UL1973 and UL9540A. Those are what Canadian utilities, insurers, and permit offices actually look at before approving an installation. The Litio10.2 has both, plus IEC62619, CE, RoHS, and UN38.3 on top of that. It is one of the more thoroughly certified options you will find at this price point in Canada.

This is one of the most common questions we get, and it is worth getting right. Under the Canadian Electrical Code, lithium batteries over 1 kWh cannot be installed inside your living space, so bedrooms, hallways, storage closets and similar areas are off limits. The most common installation spot for Canadian homeowners is an attached garage, which is explicitly permitted under the 2024 CEC for units up to 20 kWh. A dedicated utility room or electrical equipment vault may also be options depending on your local authority. Bottom line: always confirm with a licensed electrician and your local permitting office before you install, as rules can vary slightly by province.

Not at all, and honestly a lot of our customers use it without solar. A common setup is charging overnight from the grid when hydro rates are lower, then running on stored power during peak hours to cut your electricity bill. Others simply want reliable backup for when the power goes out. Solar pairs beautifully with this battery if you have it or plan to add it later, but it is absolutely not a requirement to get started.
