The Victron Energy Galvanic Isolator VDI-32 A protects boats against electrolytic corrosion caused by low-voltage DC currents flowing through the shore-power earth connection. Installed directly behind the boat’s 230V shore connection, it uses two anti-parallel diodes that block galvanic currents below about 1.4V DC while maintaining the safety-earth path for higher fault voltages.
Rated for 32A with a 3200A peak current for 20 ms, the VDI-32 uses M6 connections, an anodized aluminium heat sink and IP67 waterproof protection. It is designed for marine shore-power systems where corrosion protection, electrical safety and simple fixed installation are essential.
