The Victron Energy Galvanic Isolator VDI-64 helps protect boats from electrolytic corrosion caused by low-voltage DC currents entering through the shore-power earth conductor. Installed directly behind a boat's 230V shore connection, it uses anti-parallel diode technology to block galvanic currents while preserving the protective earth path for higher fault voltages.
Rated for 64A maximum current with a 6000A peak for 20 ms, the VDI-64 features M6 connections and waterproof, potted IP67 protection. It provides a compact, low-maintenance way to protect underwater metal parts such as hulls, propellers and shafts in shore-powered marine installations.
