The MultiPlus-II is a multi-functional inverter/charger with all the features of the MultiPlus, plus an external current sensor option that extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist function to 100A. 

For standard North American 50A 120/240VAC split-phase applications, the Victron MultiPlus-II 2 x120V is the ideal one-box mobile solution. This MultiPlus-II 2x120V can receive and passthrough both lines of a 120/240V supply, with the capacity to use the full 50A for charging and AC loads, whether it is powered by shore power or a generator.

Moreover, the Victron Energy MultiPlus-II 2x120V will combine the L1 and L2 outputs for single-phase 120V on each line when connected to a single phase 120V supply, accepting incoming power for charging and passthrough at the L1 input.

If there is no AC source available, the Victron MultiPlus switches to inverter operation. The output of the inverter is also 120V single phase. Lines L1 and L2 are internally connected by the MultiPlus-II 2x120V in inverter mode to supply 120VAC to loads on either output.

Therefore, all sides of a distribution panel will receive 120V in all connection scenarios. However, the MultiPlus can only receive 240VAC when it is powered by a split phase 120/240VAC source. This keeps the battery from being discharged by high loads like 240V air conditioners or water heaters.

The main output has no break functionality. The MultiPlus takes over the supply to the connected 120V loads in the event of a grid failure or when shore/generator power is disconnected. The transfer time of the L1 output is less than 18 milliseconds so that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption. The transfer time of the L2 output is longer: approximately 40 milliseconds.


The second output is live only when AC is available for the MultiPlus, preventing the loads from discharging the battery, such as the water heater.

Up to 6 MultiPluses can operate parallel providing 15kW/18kVA output power with 420 amps of charging capacity.

  • PowerControl – Dealing with limited generator, shore side, or grid power.
MultiPlus is an immensely powerful battery charger, with the Multi-Control panel a maximum generator or shore current can be set therefore MultiPlus by taking account of other AC loads will only use the excess for the battery charging thus preventing the overload of generator or shore.
 
  • PowerAssist – Boosting the capacity of the shore or generator.
MultiPlus taking principles of PowerControl to another dimension will be able to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. Where peak power is required only for a limited period the MultiPlus will make sure that insufficient sore or generator power is compensated for by power from the battery.
  • Four-stage adaptive charger and dual bank battery charging
The main output provides a powerful charge to the battery system utilizing ‘Adaptive Charge’ software. The software automatically fine-tunes the 3-stage process to suit battery condition and then adds a fourth stage for long periods of float charging.   • Easier system configuration
After installation, the system is ready to go and if something needs to change, it is possible with the DIP switch setting in few minutes.
  • Remote configuring and Controlling.

When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX or other GX device can be accessed and settings can be changed remotely.
