Not for the space heaters. All four Laser models are direct-vent and need only a small hole through an exterior wall, which is what makes them practical for cabins, additions and retrofits. The OM-series water heating units are ordered with their vent kit separately, and chimney adapters are available if you are reusing an existing flue.

Can I use one on an off-grid property?

Yes, and it is one of the main reasons to choose one. The heat comes from fuel rather than electricity, so the unit draws power only for its fan, igniter and controls.
