Description
The Toyotomi 5″ Chimney Install Adapter Kit is a venting accessory designed to connect compatible Toyotomi oil-fired water and hydronic heaters to a 5-inch chimney system, ensuring a safe and proper exhaust path for combustion gases. This adapter simplifies installation between the heater’s flue outlet and a chimney vent, supporting compliant vent termination and stable draft performance on models like the OM-122DW, and OM-128HH.
A sealed-combustion appliance that draws combustion air from outside and exhausts through the same exterior wall penetration. It never opens to the room, so it does not consume indoor air or require a chimney.
How is it different from a traditional oil furnace?
A conventional furnace burns room air and vents up a chimney, which carries heated indoor air away with the exhaust. A direct-vent unit is sealed, keeps that heat indoors, and installs with a single wall penetration instead of a chimney and ductwork.
How efficient are Toyotomi heaters?
Toyotomi models reach up to 87 percent efficiency, burning up to 50 percent less fuel and emitting up to 50 percent less CO₂ than conventional oil-fired systems.
What size Toyotomi heater do I need?
Start at roughly 30 to 40 BTUH per square foot for a well-insulated space, higher for older buildings, high ceilings or exposed sites. The 22,000 BTUH model covers approximately 920 to 1,150 square feet in cold conditions. Send us your dimensions and insulation details and we will confirm.
Do I need a chimney for a Toyotomi heater?
Not for the space heaters. All four Laser models are direct-vent and need only a small hole through an exterior wall, which is what makes them practical for cabins, additions and retrofits. The OM-series water heating units are ordered with their vent kit separately, and chimney adapters are available if you are reusing an existing flue.
Can I use one on an off-grid property?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons to choose one. The heat comes from fuel rather than electricity, so the unit draws power only for its fan, igniter and controls. Electric resistance heating and heat pumps are impractical on typical off-grid solar systems. Confirm the model's draw and startup surge against your inverter rating.
Are Toyotomi heaters safe for cabins and mobile homes?
Yes. Sealed-combustion Toyotomi units are certified for mobile homes and manufactured housing, a stricter approval than standard residential, and include modern safety controls.
How much will I save on fuel?
Replacing an older oil-fired system, savings reach up to 50 percent for the same heated area, from the combination of high efficiency and sealed direct venting. Actual savings depend on the system replaced, the building and local fuel pricing.
What does the Wi-Fi feature do?
Wi-Fi models let you set and monitor temperature remotely. For a seasonal cottage that means warming the building before arrival and confirming the heat is running during a cold snap while you are away.
Which model heats a whole cabin?
For an open-plan cabin, the 22,000 BTUH L-533 covers roughly 920 to 1,150 square feet in cold conditions. Larger or poorly insulated buildings need the 30,000 BTUH unit or the 40,000 BTUH L-733. Closed rooms across multiple levels are better served by the OM-128HH hydronic system.
What is the difference between the OM-128HH and the OM-122DW?
The OM-128HH is a hydronic heater that produces hot water for space heating through radiant loops or baseboards. The OM-122DW is a domestic water heater for taps and showers. Different jobs, same fuel.
Is a vent kit included?
The space heaters ship with a standard vent kit. The OM-122DW and OM-128HH take a vent kit separately, with 4 inch and 5 inch chimney adapters sold individually. Check the product page before ordering.
Can I install a Toyotomi heater myself?
Oil-fired appliance installation is regulated across Canada and generally requires a certified oil burner technician and inspection. Requirements vary by province, so confirm locally before planning the work.
What maintenance does a Toyotomi heater need?
Oil-fired appliances need periodic servicing, typically annual, covering the burner, filter, and vent terminal inspection. Follow the schedule in the manual for your model.
Does Volts Energies ship Toyotomi heaters across Canada?
